Faux Pas. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Life gives us many things
but we count the things
not given to us.
Is it not a faux pas?
Things, not given,
can make a list unending.
More we avoid such a list
and more we look below,
life would be more gratifying.

We love ourselves even if
we commit thousand mistakes.
but we are always reluctant
to forgive some one else
even for a single lapse.
Is it not a faux pas?

Every man makes mistake,
to not admit it,
to not correct it,
to not learn from it and
repeating the same is
another faux pas in life.

Truthfulness, Non- violence and
kindness to all are the tenets
of all religions.
But we are always embroiled
in falsity, violence and war that kill
the innocents in different zones.
Is it not a faux pas?
