Fear In A Handful Of Dust Poem by Abha Sharma

Fear In A Handful Of Dust

Rating: 3.8

I am afraid of Failures………
I am afraid of Destiny……..
I am afraid of Death………
I am afraid of loosing you my love.

When the mind’s mechanics of man
Are thumped in a quagmire of fear,
The ghost more fearsome than reality
Strangulates hopes with piercing spear.

Call the helpline of FEARLESSNESS
By going “beyond” the phobia,
Reduce it with the acknowledgement
And know the veracity behind cowardness.

Confront it with the absolute TRUTH
And breathe the powerful currant of air,
This heroic adventure will drive away
The immoral falsehood of ghastly tear.

And live with an audacious heart
With faith in you as Almighty’s dart.

[Supporting Gandhiji’s Teachings of Truth and Fearlessness]

This could almost have been written for me at the moment. Thank you. You're absolutely right. The pathway of fear is illusory and usually inaccurate in it's heart thumping projections, whereas the place beyond the fear remains a constant expression of love. No matter what. Beautifully expressed poetry. love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

'Do the things you fear and the death of fear is certain' wrote Ralph Waldo Emerson. This is great stuff and absolutely true. The maggot of fear feeds on the fearful; in the heart of the courageous, there is no room for fear. It took a man no less than Gandhi not only to prove this to the world but to bring his oppressors to their knees. Take care...

A good psycho analysis with the wonderful poetic touch to it. The following lines very well summ up everything: Confront it with the absolute TRUTH And breathe the powerful currant of air, This heroic adventure will drive away The immoral falsehood of ghastly tear

You right of a steadfast straight dart... from a hand that can clasp not just fear but of insightfulness that transcends any dust storm that may blow over humankind

Sort of like great reflective piece meets practical life aphorism. I studied it and saved it as a poem to learn from. Very strong work.

You use the technical objective correlatives in your poems with great dexterity. They give the 20st century touch to your poetry. A great poem.
