In the darkness of an empty entrance
A female voice said:
Follow me upstairs…
Soon afterwards he lost his mind,
His sleep, his heart, his appetite;
Even his old leather cap...
And only his mother
Noticed all that
Loss…
There is alot of insight in this Onelia. The voice calling upstairs was really in his mind, but that ever pervasive memory of the female of his desire truly tore him apart. It's beautiful that you throw in the mother reference, because they always do know and care.
That is possibly the most subtle form of eroticism I have ever read. I feel I should go consult Freud. t x
If one follows a girl upstairs runs the risk of losing his cap and his mum will notice it. The eroticism that T McH noticed is linked with an old world, dominated by a female figure. In the past, mother.
I felt like the next stanza would say 'it is time to clean your room' excellent write onelia
i was reminded of a chinese proverb: 'two things a man can't hide-that he's drunk and that he's in love'...o, yeah, nothing goes un noticed by the silent observation of a mother and yet the restraint she has!
Wow! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! what a wonderful psycho analsis of mother's mind wnen another lady enters the life of her son. Everything said in a very few words with all the poetic beauty in it. CP
Wow... this one oozes sensuality and tenderness. The sensual confidence of a woman who knows the capability of feminine wiles yet the tenderness is shown throughout that she knows how to disarm the males of the species! Love it. HG; -) xx
Girl.. you make me want to follow UP those stairs... (and I can't work out if that is as me... or as mother) .... to future Loss and Toss down-under upstares!
