I loved you so much more
Than you'll ever know
Didn't give you time you deserved
Truly didn't know how or why
My heart was in right place
But my mind was displaced
Eyes blinded by sparkling smile
Ears deafened by crying pain
Your heart cried out to me
I wasn't there for you
You only asked for little time
I never seemed to be around
You're not around anymore
And now I've found some more time
To reflect on time spent together
And think 'bout when we will meet again
Always an honour to have some of my poetry added to your favourites. Sincerest thanks, Geeta!
Thank you Richard for this poem that really sets you to think of the right and the wrong.
You're most welcome, Geeta. Always therapeutic for me to write such poetry. And I hope it's of some benefit to the readers.
A poem of regret. This happens to many of us. We realise very late the important things that we missed in life. However late, the fact that realisation dawned is of significance and redeeming. There are many who never realise their mistakes. That is the worst.
Much thought went into your sincerely worded response of such wisdom. I am very grateful to you for having taken the time to do that.
Good times and bad times are part and parcels of this life's journey. To enjoy good times even more we need to encounter tough times/sad days. Nicely written poem. Full *****
Sincerest thx, Dr. Nehal for your wonderfully worded response. And for the full marks.
Sincerest thanks, Poet Menon for adding it to your favourites.
