Friends Across The Internet Poem by David Harris

Friends Across The Internet

Rating: 5.0

This poem goes out to all my friends wherever they may live.

Someone said to me recently
you cannot count people on the internet
really as your friends.
When asked why not?
They replied, you never see them,
never touch their hands,
so you really cannot count them as friends.
I disagreed with them entirely;
friends are what you make people.
Maybe you cannot see them,
nor touch them physically,
but when you write to them,
you feel you know them;
sometimes more than
those you meet everyday.
My wish is one day
I will be able to meet all of them
and give them a big hug individually,
to show them they really are a friend to me.
I have met a few already whom I care a lot about
and I worry about them when troubles come their way,
but there are many more whom I have yet to meet.
They live in distant lands,
many thousands of miles from me
and I am going to do my best
to visit them one day,
so don’t be too shocked of you get an email from me
saying I am coming your way
on such and such a day.

This is a poem that needed to be written, friends usually give encouragement, freinds give support, friends have a common interests, friends across the internet are great. Bob

Many have suggested similar to me... and it is, of course, those who haven't tried and experienced the very deep and genuine friendships that we can build across nations. I can say in absolute truth that I know of a few people - me included - whose lives have literally been saved by virtue of those friendships. Oh, and D... you give good hugs... and look forward to seeing you on 26/10! t x

So many friends from all around this world, people we would never have met in our lives if it was not for the internet, it proves one thing no matter what Colour or creed, the hatred others try to breed, all are beautiful human beings... Andy 10

This is sweet, and thought out, instead of some who just play a dark sided game. Thanks for sharing.
