There we stood,
Three feet apart,
In the silence of the hall.
Nothing mattered, not at all,
Not a word was said, and then,
Suddenly, I know not when,
My Soul left me, with a start,
And went straight into your Heart
Sandra, I'm going to post my translation of your beautiful poem.. hoping you'll be not disappointed..
Amazing love poem! Short and sweet and very different from the norm.
Very deep Sandra, very emotional, poetry at its best. Top marks.
My Soul left me, with a start, And went straight into your Heart - such a great image! i never experienced that in my life! so eager to learn!
Poems of deep feeling trace the arc of emotion as it bends through space and connects with another's arc creating an arch between them. The end result is fusion, a word we reserve for the most complete blending of things. I don't know if this is a widely experienced, or even acknowledged view of love, but it is definitely the view embodied in many poems, such as this one. The poem is just one sentence, deftly composed by Sarah in language seekers of every age can appreciate. After reading FUSION out, loud, I was breathless not because of the physical exertion but because of the emotional involvement.
I love this poem of yours, Sandra.. so simple, intimate, so deep.. This is my Italian translation.. may I? ___________________________ ''Fusione'' - Poesia di Sandra Feldman Rimanemmo là, Ad un metro di distanza, Nel silenzio della sala.
