Good To Be Alive Poem by Annette Aitken

Good To Be Alive

Good To Be Alive

Awoke this morning bright and early
a smile on my face
the sun came shining
through my window
smiling back at me.

With joyous song within my heart
merrily I'm dancing
feeling life run through my veins
it's good to be awakened

With happy heart and gayety
I tidy round the house
radio playing all the songs
from era's past and present.

I sang along to every song
Disco, rock, romantic
rap and clubland can be noisy
think I'll leave that to the young ones.

Wonderful and inspiring poem. These moments of love and happiness are the ones we cherish and the ones can provide us the hope and light for a fantastic search in our deepest self and all around for the Truth and the Love that sits quietly and abundantly in our heart. Beautiful poem, Annette

You captured light-heartedness in words- -that isn't easy to do... it's like trying to catch the essence of butterflies in the medium of cement. So well-done! I felt like dancing with the sunbeams too! Very good write to start the New Year with!

Good reminder. Sunshine and song are amongst the good things of life that make us feel happy to be alive. A joyful poem. Thank you.
