Grief commands the heart making tears flow
Forcing my surrender to ruthless despair
With all days bleak and every minute sorrowful.
Memories of you, so vivid, are all that remain
You rest grave deep ever silent coffin dead
Lost to sight and sound, breaking the heart.
Death, sly, ruthless as cancer, came calling
Changing life forever, switching off the light.
Now, only darkness without joy or laughter
Without you my soul has lost warmth and glow.
Kneeling at your grave I hear a scream
Piercing, coming from deep within my soul,
Overwhelming, crying out against your death
Scream which God in Heaven can also hear.
So deeply touching and moving write. A well expressed poem.
