Happiness Poem by Bharati Nayak

Happiness

Rating: 5.0

Happiness
I search you everywhere
When dark clouds descend on earth
When sorrows come in large waves
And try to break my tiny house
I see you appear on the sky as a rainbow.

I seek thee in me
As I know
I can not hold the rainbow
Detaching myself from the crowd
I become one with you.
The rainbow disappears along with the cloud
And I melt into the soft sun rays
That create the rainbow.

May your tiny house never be broken. Happiness is a simple thing, yet we have to find it ourselves. Enjoy every rainbow, every sunset. For there is beauty in every day. Thank You

Revisiting this poem of happiness that we search motivates mind. Dark clouds scribble thoughts. Waves of sorrows break mind's strength. But we search for happiness. Offering prayer to God we see mercy of light. God gives us happiness....10

A wonderful poem. Happiness is subjective and yes, it can be found everywhere. I do subscribe to the idea that there is no formal definition of happiness. We know it when we feel it. A great piece well crafted.

The act of searching happiness all around and searching it inside with poetic feel makes it an endearing poem..!

hi, bharati! i'm reading earlier postings of yours and came on this one. i was attracted to the title because i too have wondered about happiness—what it is—and also because there's a poem i like by carl sandburg with the same title. these lines struck me— When sorrows come in large waves And try to break my tiny house... it seems to me happiness is an elusive term. i once looked up the definition, and the word contentment which was given in that dictionary was something i could relate to. and it seems to me that happiness and joy are not the same thing. joy is deeper, and i remain convinced that one must experience suffering and pain to experience joy. hoping this finds you well, glen
