How Much You Need - Poem by Tiku akp

How much you need to live this life
How much money, how much food
How much lands and how much blood

How much you need to take to the grave
How much power, how much hate
How much good luck and how much fate

How much you need for your clan
How much love, how much good will
How much compassion and how much thrill

Topic(s) of this poem: need for human

No one knows. But it questions many times many other talents. Instant reminds me the name of Bob Dylan, the story of Jajati from Uponishad (perhaps) but knows none. Truly we ourselves don't know our own limit of requirement! .... any way, question come out from sense of humanity. Thank you. (Report)Reply

I think I need a lot of each of these, except power and hate. Power has always eluded me in this life.
I struggle with hate and forgiveness often. I need much more good luck than I have had so far. But
    things are looking up.

An incisive and thought provoking write.
    It captures one of the human weaknesses;
    greediness.
Each and every stanza gives a reader things to ponder about.
The recurring words make this write powerful.
A well thought out and conveyed poem.
Congratulations for a well deserved accolade.

A very fine poem that speaks about man's needs and how his greed outweighs his actual need.
We really take nothing from this world except the good will and blessings of people who remember us for our love and good deeds.

    How much need.....................?
    Yeah; but this mind
    fickle, unstable human mind
    does not know the answer.....

    just it needs
    as long as it lives
    restless demand........
