You stripped me
Of the vast wealth
I inherited from my ascendants
Enormous tracts of land
That even the eyes
Could not see its limit.
You are a fraud
You tricked everyone
By the power of your social position
And with the stroke of a pen.
I hate the way you talk
I hate the way you smile
I hate the very sight of you
I curse the ground
On which you stand.
I hear the rumbles
Of my own angry heart
I need to get even
See you crawl
And you seriously wish
You were never born.
I am no better than you
I let hatred take over
I sought vengeance
For I am just human.
I am just human! ! And to err is human. Thanks for sharing.
Such a well-expressed emotion, Rose Marie..... A full 10+++
You have expressed your anger and hatred in very apt words.but your admission in the last stanza expresses your greatness.
Deep sincerity, pain and anger move this strong poem in a very realistic and well written way. We feel it all.!
So true. Revenge is often forced upon us. Could be God willing. There is a limit for being cheated, Powerful penning 10+
So true, there is one thing about a man/woman of rage readily expressed is: there is not so more than what we see, no scheming inside, no hiding the feelings. Now, there is another one with murder in mind, but he/she can smile still.
