I have a dream I'm
clutching with the passion
of a spring leaf;
this dream I'm carrying
as the fragrance of a garden
to brighten my journey;
holding it deep in that part
where no eye can peep.
It's just a dream:
sometimes beaming
in the shape of a star,
sometimes no more
visible than a tear
in candlelight;
but I need this dream
to build my life
into coherence
in the middle
of nowhere.

as all of your poem this one too a beautiful piece of poetry, and the dream... yes it lives till end of life but I feel dream doesn't die
A poem as beautiful and beaming as a lovely dream! (10)
At the very end of your poem you reveal the extremity of your situation: IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. But you have already overcome this crisis because!) you have carried the dream, protected it, brought it to a safe place; it will work on the inside, healing your psyche, AND 2) you have forged a coherence of your outer experiences. You could sum up this poem by declaring: I AM HEALTHY IN BODY AND SOUL! ! I'm fond of a passage from Ezra Pound's translation of Sophocles play on Heracles. As he dies bravely, he says to his son, WHAT SPLENDOR! IT ALL COHERES. And you echo the ancient poet when you write, TO BUILD MY LIFE INTO COHERENCE. Coherence is a way of saying I HAVE LIVED A FULLY HUMAN LIFE, and that fits every moral system on earth. Thisis your Poem of Fulfillment.
I like this one very much. I think all can identify with being in the middle of nowhere because it is a feeling not a place. I am inspired once again.
With the Passion of true love. Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
Nosheen, thank you for writing this. It brought me to my knees in tears because it spoke to me with these following words that went straight into my heart and pierced my soul- - - - - - - It's just a dream: sometimes beaming in the shape of a star, sometimes no more visible than a tear in candlelight; but I need this dream to build my life into coherence in the middle of nowhere.- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -You know where I am- -and now I don't feel alone there because you know exactly where I am and where too many find themselves. I just read a series of your poems and each one I found to be perfect and here I read another perfect poem.... since you write like an angel - -may God continue to bless your writing. 10++++++++++++++++ Poem of the Day++++++++++++++++on my Fav list of poems.

Hi Nosheen, A very beautiful poem; a poem of confidence and conviction. Just reminds me of the famous words of Martin Luther King: I have a dream! ! ! ! Then comes the helplessness of little child: I'm clutching with the passion of a spring leaf; - to the dream. But, this dream I'm carrying as the fragrance of a garden to brighten my journey; - The metaphorical phrase fragrance of dream' is definitely exquisite and converses with the reader easily. As children, we have wondered, where does the fragrance of a flower reside- in which part of the flower? Nosheen has a ready answer: holding it deep in that part where no eye can peep. We have seen the dream lighting our way. Now, It's just a dream: sometimes beaming in the shape of a star, A beaming dream! And, sometimes no more visible than a tear drop in candlelight; Nosheen is right; It is my experience as well that dreams always appear to our inner eyes as a tear-drop. And what does the dream do? Yes, but I need this dream to build my life into coherence in the middle of nowhere. Immensely beautiful poem. Clutching one's heart! Very very lovely one. Just added to my fav, so I could come back for a re.. A 100+ is too small for this wonderful poetry!
