I Mean It
Why does my spirit make a nose dive
Why should someone try to degrade me
I have every right to make myself happy
Engrossed in my writing world of creativity
Am i destined to waste this life
Only doing the chores heaped on me
Just because I am a wife?
Am I not entitled to free time
To spend it on myself
In pursuit of my hobby?
I am i, a small i
Still I am i
And I mean it so
No one is my Lord
And I mean it , real!
Self respect is a natural quality that everyone has....unfortunately women are expected to be extra selfless to lose their self respect .....why should we be so? is always a question ... beautiful write
Thank you so much Madam for your kind words.In India women's status has not changed much.Particularly the mindset of people towards women has changed little.
A woman is supposed to do all household chores, this is a thankless job having no remuneration or recognition for what she does for the family.
PART TWO--no matter how clean you get that dirty plate, it will not improve the world ---so WRITE ON, my friend, WRITE ON--- cuz you are a capital I in the world and in our eyes here at PH
so---you write strong, heart-stirring, mind-stretching and lovely poetry that the world needs to hear and is benefited by hearing---
