I Was A Little Orphan.. - Poem by Raghav Kumar VSS

I was a little orphan,
I haven’t had a house to stay.
My life was filled with dearth,
And I used to sleep on the bare Earth!

I was a little orphan,
I haven’t had a family to love.
Mom went to see the God,
And Dad too left giving her a nod!

I was a little orphan,
I haven’t had a fortune to live.
My living was in great disgrace,
And I was very far from solace!

I was a little orphan,
I haven’t had any religion to say.
My God never had any kind feeling,
And I suffered alone without any healing!

I was a little orphan,
I haven’t had enough food to eat.
My body was swollen with wounds,
And I weighed a very few pounds!

I was a little orphan,
I haven’t had any studies.
My days were spent in deep sorrow,
And I had no hope for a bright tomorrow!

I was a little orphan,
I haven’t had people to care.
My cheeks were wet when I weep,
And I wished mom was here when I sleep!

But now..

I am no more a little orphan,
I have good food to eat, books to read.
My well wishers have showed compassion,
And I lead my life with a goal and with a passion!
