I Wished Upon A Star Tonight Poem by Practicing Poetess

I Wished Upon A Star Tonight

Rating: 5.0

I wished upon a star tonight
That your future would be bright
A respite from a past of pain,
And you'd have cause to smile again

I wished your countenance would glow
And soften your brow's deep furrow
That, always, you'd have strength and pep,
A jaunty spring define your step.

And then I told that shining star
How great I truly think you are
It seemed to twinkle back at me
As though, on high, it did agree

If all the stars were made of gold, they would not shine as bright as this poem gives them credence for, a soothing and enchanting work, who ever the individual is who has earned your love as provided us, the readers, a lovely poem.
