She had grown used to seeing
The name appearing in her in box
And actually looked forward to those messages
At first, they had been very casual
And she had given nothing away
But over the months...
She relinquished her grasp
And the walls surrounding her
Started to crumble
A friendship was born...
Or so she thought...
It took a little while for her to realize
The end had been so casual
Not even so much as a 'goodbye'
No hugs, no kisses, no handshakes, no initials
Just no more...
No more anticipated names in her in box
No more fun poked
No more laughter
No more joy
No more...no more...no more...
Where once had been a happy thought
A blank space replaced...
Words...they were after all..
Only words...
Or were they?

She should check the Junk Mail and her settings...After all, If still alive none is gone forever. I liked it though :) Fun!
Sometimes people disappear for good reasons and eventually reappear with a good explanation. Nice write.. and yes, I have seen friends vanish for real too. Zen
Words can be nectar to the soul, if they say all the right things. But words can be rubbed out so easily. A fickle friend perhaps. One can only go forward and live in hope. Lovely storyline. Very nice write. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
Poignant, well constructed poem on one of the hazards of cyber life. As for the explanation - who knows. It can be overwhelmingly busy at times and sometimes there are so many threads to follow, I personally lose track, run out of time... whatever, it's still a real sensation springing from real relationships of a sort, and a very worthwhile subject for a site like this. Fine write Dee. xx jim
another one of your '10' rated poems, you never run out of them. I've personaly experienced what you have so eloquently stated, and to soothe my aching soul, I tell myself they were 'only words'. and try t compel myself never to send personal msgs again
Poignancy personified. How ironic that good works come from bad deeds. Ez X
