In Response to Belle Wassermeister's Poem, Time Is Short...[ Inspired by Belle, ' God ', and my, Bri's, Conscience *** ]

[[ In this poem, 'She' refers to God. ]]

'Belle, I might say you are a Jesus Freak **, but to say THAT I'm too mild & MEEK. But I take a stand for agnostics & atheists, of which I'm one. I'll say God's WORK is still NOT done! .......

I wish She'd consulted me, Bri, before, Creation, She started upon. I doubt She gave much thought to Mankind's comforts before She waved her Heavenly 'magic wand'......

Did She REALLY think we would like plagues and hurricanes, wildfires, and all the rest of the 'natural disasters' which have befallen Mankind at Her, God's, behest? ? .......

Please don't make excuses for God. Don't say 'Well it was Her first time; she's learning', while believers and nonbelievers alike, for peace and safety, always are yearning......

Come on, Belle Wassermeister, and others who claim allegiance to a 'loving god'. [[ As I remember from my youth, God is also Vengeful. What's with THAT? ! ]].......

I'll give God one more chance to abolish for all time all the lies, hate, misery, cheating, wars, disease, and other mayhem which have been Mankind's 'guests' here on Earth......

The sooner I see that happen, the sooner I'll return to church, praying, giving money 'for God's work', and all the other things expected of me and others just because we happen to be part of the whole Creatinn 'ball of wax'.

Amen

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
'Jesus freak is a term arising from the late 1960s and early 1970s counterculture and is frequently used as a pejorative for those involved in the Jesus movement. As Tom Wolfe illustrates in The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test, the term 'freak' with a preceding qualifier was a strictly neutral term and described any counterculture member with a specific interest in a given subject; hence 'acid freak' and 'Jesus freak'. Thanks Bri for expressing your thoughts on this topic like a poet. I just want to simply say that the ills of the society your enumerated in your poem are not God's intension for his children. It is the works of satan. God does not take pleasure in the sufferings of his children.
