India And National Press Poem by Pranab K Chakraborty

If any Hindu monk
dies of beating by angry mass
before dawn by mistake
assuming the man as a thief
and child-snatcher
National press of India
take high hand to raise the voice
of people in favor of that monk

but tragically
when hundreds of men died by super cyclone
millions of houses blown out of eyesight
city like Kolkata stands dumb
by devastating wind which uprooted
five thousands of trees
electric posts overthrown from its stands
more than forty thousands throughout a state
people crying hard for water and light at night
National press act as blind
no voice they hear from their purchased chambers
but why
but
why

Bengal observes silently such spineless activities
polarised concern of the platform of
making public opinion in democratic infrastructure
simply it's a shame
people many are under the sky
city peoples are suffering from dark, summer heat and
want of drinking water
death fear of pandemic warning now useless
lockdown downs its head since peoples suffering
from immediate slaps of nature!
