Life, a potion kept in a goblet
How does it taste?
Spicy,
Tangy,
Bitter
Or
Sweet?
I don't know.
All I know is;
It isn't too sweet to be quaffed off
Nor too bitter to be spitted out!
How does it taste? Thanks for sharing this poem with us.
Life is spicy, tangy, bitter and sweet. If it is too sweet, it will surfeit. If it is too bitter, no one will marry. As brevity is called the soul of wit, the matured poet has become stingy in describing life, the epic in everyone's journey from birth to death.
Yes, life is unpredictable at times, a wonderful poem, simple yet profound.
A great poem, Valsa. It has me thinking....perhaps that goblet doesn't need to be (or can't be!) filled the same way every day.
Life indeed is not bad. It is sweet. Happy that is your conclusion too. (10) . A doubt, is that off after quaffed necessary?
Taste of life is beautifully presented in the poem.

I would like to translate this poem
May our goblets be filled with a mixture of spices- to give life its tang. As much as we don't want to taste sorrow, without it how would we know the depths of joy? If we never tasted the bitterness of our love being rejected, how would we savor the special sweetness of love responded? I love the brevity you used in getting across these complex thoughts and the perfect word choice that accompanied this brevity. Another beautiful poem from the soul of Valsa. A mere ten is not enough but it is all I am allowed. 10+++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Susan I love the way you probe into the depths of a poem and adorn it with pearls unnoticed by many! Thanks so much!
