Kerala 4 - Kerala Named After The Windy Coconuts Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

Kerala 4 - Kerala Named After The Windy Coconuts

Rating: 5.0

Wind! A faithful friend! of
Winsome, tall, green coconut trees,
Whispering sweet messages in secret,
Whistling away joyful, romantic tunes,
Wishful Palms enjoying the breezy song!

When the wind talks, laughs and plays
Winding its way in spiral and wavy curves,
Wrapping and embracing the branches,
While the leaves flutter and dance, That's
When a new territory of the breeze and trees, was born!

Word went round the coastal state of a new place,
Wondrous land of ‘kera' or ‘coconuts' that nourish,
Wind rolled, tossed and turned the name to ‘Kerala'!
Wonderful land of nature, gods and goddesses,
Winning all the way into the hearts of the people!
