Charity starts at home don't we say?
Be kind to kith and kin come what may.
A family's not only your safe haven
Tis pals, your very own roots
Water those shoots with love devoid of hate
so they bear you sweeter fruits.
Maybe you'd say that's not so easy
but perhaps that's coz you're just too busy
Or your clock just don't chime
for quality family time.
For if you can't make time for a letter or a hug
then let my poem give your conscience a gentle tug.
And if this may sound like a preachy homily
deserves much more mention and affection the family!
If you can make time for so many things
some of them not even worthwhile
Try discover the happiness family brings
A lil modifying that routine of lifestyle
My words in crystal clear clarity
sing compassion's likewise a charity
Charity need not be for strangers only
Find out who needs help in kindred and family
Ties of kinship severe not
Value the relations you've got
Your father, brothers, sisters from your family tree
and all else that you call family.
If most poet's good sentiments and advice were followed, we would be just one, great big, loving family here on Earth and really the United Family of Nations. Your poem ads a lot to our well being individual and collectively, So true, the most important thing in our lives should be our family, living in harmony and love, I loved It. Congratulations.
Indeed, charity begins at home! A beautiful message to the world! Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day.

Family should be the bond that is unbreakable unfortunately that bond is tested by some people, who look after themselves without thinking of their loved once. I really do like the third last stanza which says Charity need not be for strangers only Find out who needs help in kindred and family On this earth all men and women come from the same mother, we are all brothers and sisters, to bad we move into separate rooms. Thank you for sharing this delightful work

great expression of thought. i enjoyed very much. actually, though i don't think of it as charity, i do sometimes think to myself that if i can't do something (each day would be nice) to make MYSELF feel good, then why should i bother keeping on with life. in my case i kill two birds with one stone as i enjoy helping others with words or deeds, so by helping others i am at the same time making myself feel good and therefore i feel my life is still worth living. i DO phone my four siblings more than they phone me. that's the influence of my mother on me. she is dead now, so she can no longer be the family member to prompt family-connecting. thanks for sharing.
