Limerick: Truck Tires

Rating: 5.0

I do not like to think I'll get stuck
when I go for a ride in my truck,
so I spend lots of bread
so I'll have a good tread
and won't have to depend on my luck.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Once a month I meet with a poetry group, the Rhyme and Reason chapter of the Utah State Poetry Society.
The leader of the group, whose name is Kolette, made a challenge this month. We were to write something about one of the following things:
1) where the opening line is something recently overheard in public
2) about getting stuck
3) with no adjectives or adverbs
4) about your favorite season (don't name the season)

I chose the 'getting stuck' theme (item 2) , but when I had finished, I noticed that it ALMOST qualified in category 3 also, as it has only one adjective ('good') .

For those whose native language is not English, or may otherwise be unaware, the use of the word 'bread' in the limerick is a slang term for 'money'.
