Locked Eyes Poem by Vaibhav Pandey

Locked Eyes

Rating: 4.3

In the face of infinite space between us,
Our eyes were locked on to each other
through the medium of eternal affinity,
withstanding even the barrier of time.

Eyeing a single flutter would have meant
a lifetime of separation, unendurable.
Our lives were captured in that moment
where the effect of time became inconsequent...

I'm a firm believer it's all about timing. Is it miraculous when two souls fall into the same instant in time? Perhaps we all exist at the same point in time because we are all interconnected. Problem is that we don't always have our eyes open. Nicely done! Linda

Eye to eye, heart to heart, soul to soul, what moment sweet to look into each other's mind. Adorable and romantic.

Its so wonderful a feeling to read The eternal relation taken fold... I rememeber a quote.... to be told 'It is wrong to think that love comes from Long companionship and persevering courtship. Love is the offspring of spiritual affinity and Unless that affinity is created in a moment, It will not be created for years or even generations” Enjoyed the feeling of Love expressed in this poem.

'where the effect of time became inconsequent...' Beautiful poem with sensible imagery. The last lines sums it all so vividly.

You have rightly captured the spirit of the theme. I am reminded of one of Mukesh's songs written by Hasrat Jaipuri: 'Dil ke nazar se, nazron ke dil se'. What do you say about 'nazron ke dil se? '. We will be thinking about it for the whole lifetime. Your poem also reflects the same essence. Good.
