Lost in Love's Chant
I still can't call to mind our first meeting
But as we saw each other more frequently
You spoke to me in the inaudible language of your eyes
And was bewitched by the clear glow on your face
Like magnet to a piece of metal, I was drawn to you.
When you whispered love's veiled message
With haunting echoes faintly singing
I found nothing to match your melodic musing
And felt my desires taking a headlong ride
With my heart opening to the seamless web of dreams
Never had I known love's balmy touch before.
As your words fell on me like ambrosia from heaven,
Sweet and fragrant sensations danced within my brain
A pleasant ache tickled me from inside
And I exploded with an inexpressible yearning!

Such a tremendous verse, Valsa. As I read the first stanza I think this many not be the first love, but it is the deepest, the most profound, most lasting love. Can it endure beyond mere mortality? Great poem, Valsa.
A beautiful poem on love. A love that sprouts in all romantic youths. A love that is kindled at first sight and kept in heart and nurtured by frequent meeting.
