Gandhiji inculcated
‘Abhaya' or Fearlessness
An essential ingredient of
Ahimsa - Non-injury
Altruistic challenge!
To practice Ahimsa one has
To love all persons,
To respect all beings,
To curb all selfishness,
To dissolve all hatred!
For Gandhiji was the welfare
Of all human beings,
Irrespective of their religion,
Language, caste or creed -
Of great value!
"Whoever took to their heels
The moment they saw two people
Fighting, are escapists,
Pretending to be non-violent
They are truly cowards! "
Gandhi's teachings,
Not just a preaching,
But a demonstration,
Of the daring,
Of fearlessness in Ahimsa!
I don't know about you Geeta but in my country but in my country, people had been blown up and some ended up cemented in a container; others had been jailed and harassed. The politicians in power are getting bolder by the day. Unfortunately we don't have a leader anywhere near your greatly respected Gandhi. Thank you for this lovely poem

As I think about Gandhi (and reflect on what I’ve observed in myself) , I would guess that he may have felt fear (a human and autonomic reflex) but did not bow to it, did not let it control him. Is this howm you see it, Geeta? -Glen
