Message In A Bottle (3) - Poem by Dilantha Gunawardana

Found her asleep in an attic
In her soulful heart, she was a pure classic
Chiseled by a wordsmith for eyes to frolic
In breathtaking narrations of lyrical traffic
Her soul was sensual and mystic
A tapestry of love woven by middle-aged magic
Interlaced in an empyrean fabric
A love transcending any human antic
Yet the hold of the heart disappeared in trials tragic
As an unsung hero salvaged lives in their panic
As the cascading waves engulfed his life's fabric
Oh the tragedy of life to lose a hero to forces aquatic
For a lass to lament endlessly, her heart hemorrhagic
For life remains a fleeting path, a journey nomadic
