Mirror Of Rain - Poem by Alexander Rixton

The falling rain mirrors me;
tears dropping onto cold, dark grounds
Loneliness is echoed
with constant pattering on the still street
I sit in darkness, cross legged
Comforted only by pain and longing love
Space has never seemed bigger,
my heart never smaller and my world never colder

Rain begins to pour inside,
matching heavens torrents upon my window pane
I lie here now, slowly curling my legs to my chest, holding myself only
Searching for solace in sleep,
amidst the floating memories of you
