Misfortune
Life will be pretty dull if nothing goes astray
What would be the weather if skies were never gray
Some setbacks are needed to spice up boring days
And not take for granted when cheer is holding sway
Challenges to confront for all to grow up strong
When bad luck encountered just shrug and move along
On a silver platter only a few belonged
The rest like you and I we'll overcome the wrongs
Misfortune crossing by does not presage the end
With lessons to be learned to avoid them if you can
Then bravely you can face whatever rounds the bend
Some take it with laughter that's the best way my friend
This kind of wisdom tends to only come with age. I preach perspective almost every day. I should just show people this poem instead!
