Mother Earth bestows the mankind
With an entrancing world of breath-taking beauty!
Yet, only a few are aware of its grandeur!
The nature has to be fondly nurtured,
Cultivated into a garden,
So that even the Gods could take a morning walk,
On the clean path laden with fragrant flowers!
But man! In his material hunt
And the rush to accumulate wealth
Has no time to clean his environment,
Or his discontented mind.
When he throws garbage out of his window
Into his compound or the streets,
In a careless and callous manner,
Does he ever realise that he has actually poured
Dirt and filth into Mother Earth's lap?
Mother is disgusted with this despicable act!
For she is the Bhibhatsa Bhoomi - The Mother of aversion!
This is a wonderful poem, Geeta. I find that there's an irony that you convey in such a subtle way...We go out of our way at times to create a perfect environment, and then proceed to pollute. A profound lesson in a great poem.
