I'm grateful for the memories
that I have of my father.

Many years ago, I had just won
the Ogden Chess Club Championship
for the second year in a row.
I was playing a game of chess
with my father, and got careless
and let him beat me.

He wouldn't play me any more!

After that he delighted in telling people
'My son is the champion of the Ogden
Chess Club, and I beat him the last
time we played! '

Every time I think of this,
I cannot help but smile.
