While at college
We were hosting a farewell party
To our seniors.
In my autograph book
One of my seniors wrote
‘give to the world the best you have
And the best will come back to you.'
Those beautiful words
Remained etched in my memory.
Today, forty five years later
Another nugget has crossed my eyes
‘Always see the best in others
It will bring out the best in you.'
I wish the above two statements
Merge and melt into a Talisman
To guide through my journey
Until my station comes.
Another nugget has crossed my eyes ‘Always see the best in others It will bring out the best in you.' - - - -Some words of wisdom are capable enough to change our path. A beautiful poem of wisdom.
Thanks for your kind visit and also for a very positive feedback on this poem 'My Talisman'.
‘give to the world the best you have And the best will come back to you.' Those beautiful words Another nugget has crossed my eyes ‘Always see the best in others It will bring out the best in you.' TALISMAN BY RM JI Remained etched in my memory.
You touch on two wise sayings and hopefully if you make the effort you will be rewarded. The idea of a talisman never ceases to fascinate-you need to feel lucky in life for sure.
Thanks for a wonderful feedback, Michael. During our long journey, we design our own talisman based on our inputs, experience and / or faith. But we need to be positive in our approach.
So true, we must try to give our best to the world that is the reason of our existence. Take care and thanks for sharing.
You write in a clear style not too obscure or abstruse. The two sayings which you quote are quite memorable. M.Walker.
Thank you, Dear Poet Friend Mr. M. Walker. You have so beautifully described my style of writing. I want to keep it as simple as my life.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
