My Upanishadic Sweetie Pie 11 Poem by Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

My Upanishadic Sweetie Pie 11

Rating: 5.0

Two months passed after the floods.
Things started to appear normal.
The wet season went by rather reluctantly!

As I sat in a pensive mood,
Staring into the empty space in front of me,
I was suddenly startled at the sudden
Appearance of my black and white Sweetie Pie!
I first wondered whether I was imagining!
But No! She was really there!

In fact, sensing my disbelief, she hopped two steps ahead!
Then flew down into the wall below!
Walked a few steps more!
So strange! I have never seen her like this.
More surprising, she flew down to the ground.
Now, she was very near me!

I said: 'Hey, where were you all these days?
I am, indeed, very happy to see you!
Tell me, my Sweetie Pie, is all well with you? '

'All is fine with me' said Sweetie Pie and continued.
'In fact, I came to see whether you are okay!
After that terrible flood, I was worried about you.
My family and I have moved from here to a far off region.
I escaped from my flock to come and see you.
I should get back to them before darkness falls.
I felt upset that I could not say good-bye to you.
That's why, to wish you good luck I have come again!
I know what happened here!
Do not lose hope!
Nothing of yours is lost!
Everything is there within your heart and head!
Search! And you will get it! '

I was amazed!
I sat looking at my friend with eyes wide and a half open mouth!

Our heart and mind holds everything dear to us, the rest are less significant. How true. That little bird of yours is truly wise. Thanks Geeta.
