No Cyclone Can Destroy Poem by Kumarmani Mahakul

No Cyclone Can Destroy

Rating: 5.0

Cyclone comes and destroys civilizations,
This also destroys homes and industries,
Power of destruction negatively flows,
This brings sorrow and agony among many.

Any material thing is perishable we know,
Cyclone does not leave any matter,
Even bodies get destruction that is witnessed,
Many fear hearing about cyclone's coming.

But we are eternal soul and angelic,
We have eternal wings of wisdom to fly,
Having memory of God we empower,
No cyclone destroys us at all negatively.

Our spiritual wealth is not destroyed at all,
We keep this and move where destiny takes,
We coming out of bodies see cyclone's blowing,
Cyclone becomes powerless to destroy us.

The poem nicely portrays the devastating powers of natural calamities vis-a-vis the spiritual powers which insulates the man from within so that he can withstand all kinds of onslaughts. Lovely poem. Thanks.

Topical because of the cyclone in Houston-good. Most people would think of a cyclone as destructive only, but you show that the 'cyclone becomes powerless to destroy us', because of faith in God. In the long run, I think you are right.

Hurricanes, cyclones, earthquakes and similar natural disasters can take away our physical existence and all our material wealth, but cannot destroy our spiritual wealth! We hope to reach a place where beauty, joy and calmness prevail and a state and abode.... never affected by the ravages of Nature! A poem reminding us of the transience of temporal existence.....! A 10
