Summer evening,
Hot and humid,
Half moon lights up the sky.
White jasmine mellows
The warm air with fragrance.
I take a deep breath.
Evenings such as these
Create a sacred sanctuary
From a world in turmoil.
An invisible virus
Unleashes the tsunami
Of illness.
Fear and uncertainty
Crumbles the familiar
Way of life.
No place to hide....
White petals of Jasmine
And half moon in sky
Calm as ever.
A silent message
Runs through my veins.
No place like home!
Home is the best place. Home is very sweet. Home is affectionate and here we find heaven. We love sweet home ever. This poem is very interesting. Reading this once again I feel very happy.
Exquisitely captures the mood of the world, the safety of home can protect us against the chaos and uncertainty behind our door. This message is no longer silent but universal. wonderful poem

A silent message Runs through my veins. No place like home! A wonderful message Savita ji that rings loud and clear during this pandemic period. Thank you so much.
Very beautifully penned poetry madam where a home formed makes us live quite well. There is nothing like a home indeed.
p.s. in the 1930s? movie The Wizard of Oz i think it was " There's no place like home" which 'Dorothy' repeated to get 'back' to Kansas. I think my previous comment said somethin' a bit different. bri ;)
(cont.) 2 - " (There's No Place Like) Home For The Holidays by the Carpenters (singers) Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays, For no matter how far away you roam When you long for the sunshine of a friendly gaze, For the holidays - you can't beat home, sweet home" AND it's something " Dorothy" (Judy Garland) said in the movie " The Wizard of Oz" to help her get back to Kansas. bri :)

1- LOVELY! ! ! i probably would have a very difficult time writing such a poem, as i'm 'more into' writing poems which are " silly" , " humorous" , " sexy" , " imaginative" , and/or " controversial" , not calming/tranquil. I'm glad there are poets who write as you did here. to MyPoemList. bri ;) (cont.)
