Obscured Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

Obscured

Rating: 5.0

Reports BBC with glee
‘that the number of
Russian soldiers died
in the war against Ukraine
is obscured, and maybe
double the official figures.

More deaths just mean
more families bereaved,
vulnerable, insecure and weak
and more children orphaned

whether Russian or Ukrainian
everyone of those who died
is a son, a brother or a father
and has left a family in tatters.

who has drawn the borders
that divides man from man?
when will greed of treason
be subdued by reason?

a distasteful media crime is media like the BBC gleefully announcing deaths dead Russians pimping western wars ignoring the crime loss in dead lives torn flesh destroyed cities devastated mined countryside; never forget war is a crime inflicted by humanity upon humanity

A n everending war. Every death caused by the war of these two nations is a pain to humanity.

God created the landmass, but man drew the borders for which all of us suffer and would suffer also. Impeccable piece.
