Ode To The Broken Vow - Poem by Amalei Masigla

Waited for long
Where are you?
When will you be back?
When will I stop waiting?

Again and again I wished for you
Wished for the nights
Of sweet lullabies and caresses
Letting me rest on your lap until I fall asleep

Still I await your return
For me and for our fruits
Where are you?
Are you coming back for us?

Have you forgotten the vow we made?
A vow broken by the jealous heart
Are they stopping you to see me?
Are you sticking by the judgment?

Will you ever come back?
To renew the vow that was broken by time
I do not know
But still I wait
Holding on
