Ordinary Poem by Bharati Nayak

Ordinary

Rating: 5.0

I am a piece of pebble
Very ordinary
Lying on the road side
You passerby
Perhaps
Took a fancy
Picked me up
Perhaps
You found
Some color and beauty
And so
Took me
With you
Beauty lies
In your eyes
I am just a pebble
Very ordinary
Oh passerby! !

I am the passer-by of your poem. I do collect pebbles and rather see divinity in them. Beautiful poem. (10)

Hi Bharati, A pabble is not an ordinary piece of stone. Its sharp corners are rounded by the flow of the river that carries it from the birth, by rubbing it off on hard surfaces. Yes, the river called 'life' and its harsh realities. These experiences kindle the creative energy. Your poems are witnesses to them. As Rajendranji has mentioned, we all pass by your exquisite poems, and may be, pick up pebble here or there. And try to read OUR life in them. Loved reading. Thank you.

Thank you Sri Unnikrishnan E.S. for your nice comment..The way you explained the roundness of pebble as our wisdom gained through experience is really wonderful.

(CONT.) One's concept of beauty can vary greatly from another's concept of beauty. if YOU were a pebble, or even a PIECE of pebble, i WOULD be tempted to take you home with me. i could always discard you back to the road side/road's side/roadside! ! ! ! i've already discarded OR been discarded by several wives. :) to MyPoemList. bri (:
