Distant bells open my eyes
Bringing me back to where i am
My dream now lost in my mind
I'm awake as I'll ever be
I walk the crowded streets at dawn
Each step mocking a sound
A reminder that I'm alone
Lonliness is not so bad
There's room to breathe,
to hear yourself think
Company can be a heavy burden
A red apple catches my eye
i steal a bite and savour its taste
i stop to smile at the children at the park
They giggle, leaving a shadow of innocent laughter
I want to weep but instead i sigh
Life will bring them down soon enough
I walk through my front door
Home again,
The silence has never been so golden
The silence has never been so golden probably never will either, golden indeed...John
I love this poem. It's rich in imagery and message as well. Only when we are comfortable in our own skin, able to be alone with ourselves, that we discover amazingly that 'aloneness' isn't so bad after all. Solitude and the space to feel ourselves in our own world of beauty is a true gift and well expressed here.
I walk through my front door Home again, The silence has never been so golden...................... Enough to conquer the heaven. Excellent.
There is a certain satisfaction in solitude especially when it feels like you are constantly living in an over crowded world of sound and the fury of people around you. Sad but also embracing a state of the human condition.
Lovely poem. There many pleasant and beautiful things that we notice when we are alone. It makes the whole experience of being alone satisfying.
Yeah, loneliness can give a very sublime peace to the mind.I like it too.
