Please Hold My Heart
Hold my heart; Don't let go
Stay with me, body and soul
Don't let the world come crowding in,
To spoil this time. Don't let them win.
A moment frozen in time, this
With just we two, and timeless bliss.
Shut out the noise. Our world is best.
Above the din, we've peace and rest.
Securely held in loving arms,
We both succumb to each one's charms.
Our own unique magic we create.
The savage world will have to wait.
'Shut out the noise. Our world is best.' That line makes this almost a poem within a poem for me. That two people can create a world unto themselves probably speaks to the very heart of a love poem. Now that's magic! :)
Lovers have been creating a world of their own ever since time began. But, oh my! You impressed me as sort of the Marlboro Man type- - independent, needing no one. I thought the only poems that were of interest to you were poems about the universe, or the occasional humourous one. I continue to blush when men read my poems on topics such as abortion, rape, and love. HOWEVER, I must remember that you've tried at love at least once, or your daughter would not exist! ! ! : D Major topic change: I read your Frankenstein poem, BTW, and found it amazingly creative and funny. How you managed to place yourself in the mind of the monster so accurately, is beyond me. Gearing up a bit early for Halloween, aren't you, Bud? This year, I'm dressing up as a Sock Hop Sweetie in a pink poodle skirt and ponytail!
There's just no comparison to that loving feeling, long may it last. A loving tender piece Princess.
