Poem Hunter 4 - Ode To Classic Poets Of Poem Hunter - Pablo Neruda

Rating: 5.0

Dear Poet Pablo Neruda!
In your poem. "If you forget me"
I perceive a conditional element for love.
"If little by little you stop loving me
I shall stop loving you little by little."
Later, you say:
"If suddenly you forget me
Do not look for me
I shall already have forgotten you."

Respected Poet Pablo Neruda!
Please do not be angry with me
Because here, I beg to differ.
With much apologies Sir!
Love is not love,
If it is conditioned
And punctuated with ‘Ifs'!
Love is such a wholesome emotion,
Unplanned and unconditional,
Which pours out in ecstasy
With profound joy.
Is there any room for reservation or revenge?

Recalling Shakespeare's Sonnet
Wherein he exclaims:
"Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove."

Let me quote my humble poem too:
"Love is all embracing
That should emerge from deep within
Limitless and infinite!
Without any barriers and boundaries,
With no tall orders or terse rules,
Without any expectations or rewards! "

Dear Poet Pablo Neruda,
You have a unique style of writing poems
That express with passion the raw emotions
With such honesty and clarity,
That makes you a top poet of Poem Hunter!

A great tribute to a great poet! I love the great Pablo Neruda the way he uses hyperbole! You have very precisely drawn a magnificent portrait of this great genius! Furthermore, you are doing a very commendable job by bringing out this wonderful series on classical poets....10

'Very deep, analytical and humane' this is what I can say about this ode. Though, modern poets like Pablo Neruda rely more on realism than on idealism, love remains the centrifugal force that binds us all which no one can deny. Recalling Shakespeare's words is absolutely justified here. Thanks, Geeta ji, for taking a very balanced position in the present context.
