Protective Charm Poem by Uriah Hamilton

Protective Charm

Rating: 4.5

We spent mythical afternoons
wandering abandoned buildings
in a ghost city.

Considering the softness
of the warm rain,
we felt less lonely,
a small consolation.

Someone's daughter
kissed me
in the back alley
near the broken beer bottles.

She told me, you're not handsome
but people have overcome worse.

At the new age book store,
we bought a protective charm
and prayed for the well being of everyone.

To have 'prayed for the well being of everyone' that was very thoughtful! Thanks for sharing, Uriah!
