Odd shapes,
Resembling insomniac dreams
Floating by untiring
Over miles of uncertainty
In a whimsical pattern
Till they disappear as silently
As they come
Very much like love
(continued) The poem weaves together these threads to paint a picture of love, loss, and loneliness. A brilliant exhibition of poetic expression Miss Irfan. Thanks for sharing.
Well written and obviously from experience. The last line was a beautiful addition.
Sometimes odd shapes clouds float untiringly but do not provide rain. So also love flies in the sky of life but doesn't get its hope. A beautiful metaphorical poem shared amazingly.10
This poem speaks volumes! Infertile clouds are not likely to give birth to cooling showers! They come arousing hopes in us! The parched lands look up to get drenched in rain! But shattering all hopes, they come and vanish! Love too can be like this! Through the image of clouds, you have conveyed the onset of love, the false hope it gives and finally its sudden waning! 10++++++
P: S: I also loved the suggestive title - the 'rainless clouds' almost hint at the fact that there is a yearning for love in the speaker, who hopes that love will pour upon her much like showers in the monsoon. A wonderful poem filled with suggestive analogies and images. Thanks for sharing ma'am: -)
This is really beautiful. I love how you create two different analogies within your poem - one of the scattered clouds being like 'insomniac dreams' - which probably suggests either thoughts while awake at night or maybe even nightmares that disturb a proper sleep. And these are related to the second simile that of silently disappearing love.
