Rainy Season; Two Scenes
ONE
Incessant rains, heavy down pour,
Inundating roads, bazars and residences.
Rails slowed down and traffic jammed,
Pedestrians floating in waist deep waters.
Vehicular traffic forced at stand still
Helpless train commuters tied and jammed
Away from homesand places of work
They are surrounded with flooding mirk.
Reliving horrors of July 05 floodings,
Memoirs of it's impact frightening;
To the almighty their kins are praying
For dear ones safe home returning.
TWO
Away from Mumbai, in Marathwada region
The parched humanity and the parched land
Waiting for rains since on-set of season,
Weeks followed days and half season has gone.
Partial starvation and u quenched thirst
Has torn apart their lives and economies too
Hoping they are to move on with the glue
Of govt. sponsored aid and relief.
Opposite these scenarios, the special gifts
Of global warming and imbalanced environment
Caused by huge deforestation n carbon emission
Forced by self centered acts of the coterie.

Thank you very much Dr. D.K.Swain for your inspiring comment. Typo omission in first line of 2nd stanza. It should be unquenched thirst. You always remind me my batch mate n friend D.N.Swain who too was from Odisha.
