I understand why most overdose on fantasy
Because reality is over flowing with contradiction
The mind’s eye been fed a spoon full of lies
Politicking the minds of the innocent
Made to believe that the real crimes are made
In the streets and not in the house of govern
Rather than replenishing and making a step forward
A thousand steps, those that govern take us back
Placing the world in a curious case of Benjamin Button
We age without change, we smile in steps of oblivion
Oblivious to the breakout soon to blow out
An eruption of a volcano fuelling corruption
Deducting numbers of steps and breaths taken
Collateral damage, definition: damage to things
That are incidental to the intended target
Frequently used by the military minded
The destruction of civilian property and non-combatant Casualties
A power struggle surrounding controversy
Country leaders waging in a war of words sugar-coated
Frosting to keep a blissful ignorance in the eyes
Of their civilians
The strife for power until one remains, freedom is far from near
We are sheltered under the cover of darkness to blind us
To teach us to fear a faceless enemy, placing hate in our eyes
And told to run and hide until it’s all clear, when there’s nobody there
Keep an open mind, but don't believe everything you see or hear
Real crimes are made by those who place hatred in our eyes,
Subliminally causing us to believe and fear the Faceless Enemy
It's never in the streets where real crimes occur but in the house that governs
I understand why most overdose on fantasy
To endure
