That Roshogulla was a Bengali delight;
Was officially recognised after a fight;
Nabin Chandra Das & Sons,
Were indisputedly the ones,
Who pioneered the round & cheesy white.
These lip-smacking balls are a treat;
Enthralling everyone with drum beat;
Hundred & sixty years ago,
It was invented do u know?
Spongy, serupy, cheesy sweet-meat.
The poem stimulates my appetite. Of course I have not yet tried roshogulla, but it could happen.
I relish Roshogullas! For long time I had the notion that its origination belonged to my state but as you have mentioned in the notes part, the origin of it was credited in favor of West Bengal by the court of Law! I am delighted to learn that you have kept the detailed record of it! Very nice! After all Roshogullas are Roshogullas....Loved reading the poem....10
You have ended the argument in a lovely way, and thanks for informing me of a sweet that I had never heard of before. I will ask my Bengali friends about it!
Sure. And I bet you will relish the dish which is a favourite of Indians every where. Thank you, Dear Fiend.
I will go to Bhubaneshwar in March, and I will ask to taste the Odisha version. I will try to accumulate merit before that so I will deserve a treat.
That's great. It will be interesting to find out the difference (or similarities) in both the versions. Thanks a lot, Denis.
I will also go to Calcutta, so I will taste the treat in both places.

Rajnish ji, it is remarkable that you have written a poem on Roshogulla. I never knew that there was a dispute regarding its origin. Well, wherever it may come from, all i know is that it is a wonderful sweet of India. Delightful poem. :)
Of course, it was interesting to learn about this contentious issue now settled once and for all. Thanks for your kind words, Geeta ji.
