Salute To The Senior Citizens
Salute to the senior citizens
Home and abroad,
On this day, October the First
The Intenational Day of Older Persons.
You showed us the way,
You were the pioneers of our life,
Who set the trend and the values
Which we earnestly uphold and honour.
You steadfastly stood by us
When we were youngsters.
As we grew up, you passed down
Your invaluable knowledge to us.
Today you are old, but not weak,
Frail, but not forgotten,
We proudly wear your hat
And give you the smartest salute ever!

The poem is dedicated to anyone older than me! How attentive! I do hope they get interested and will read your caring and loving poem, since this is so touching and the words come from a heart that has great belief in God. Very human, caring and loving poem.5 stars!
