Satish's father didn't accept defeat
He was a lawyer in Distt Jhelum
Prior to partition of India in 1947.
Avtar Narain- young Satish's father
Refused to be intimidated by times
Why Satish should be deprived and
be disabled for life? Thought he.
The father saw his son's aptitude
In drawing lines, form and colour
Satish was first sent to Mayo College
of Arts, Lahore, and after partition
to Sir JJ School of Arts in Bombay
Father knew Satish could stay on his own.
A support from the parents specially for an artiste affords not just strong support but great motivation. Being an artiste myself, i really know how important it is to get moral support and encouragement from your parents. A child blooms with the blessing of his or her parents. Rajnish ji, thank you for this truly inspiring story....10.
I fully understand your sentiments with regard to the parents support and guidance in shaping the future of their child and I can recall the 'Leaflets' of your life whereby you have given full credit to your wonderful parents for what you could do and achieve in life. Thanks, Geeta ji, for a nice review and appreciation of this poem,
