Self-Portrait
Friends, I did this self-portrait
about a couple of years back
It was done in a casual manner
I was eying myself into a mirror
Roughly like my own being
Lines reflect my inner feelings
My face is laced with trace
of age, joy, hope or anxiety
A readiness to brace just in case
My Status- No frills, No cavils
And certain things I hold close
Which a camera fails to pick
or simply does not care to click.

Wow sir Rajnish, great to know you not only know how to paint and depict with words but you have impressive drawing and painting talent too! ! Your artistic skill is marvellous, how you did a very realistic impressionist portrait and the fabulously crafted self poem too, your word choice superb! I can never draw anything or paint as excellently as you can and my own self portrait would look funny, and different ah. I replied to your comment by mail as well.

This may look like a bit amateurish but I like to draw whenever I feel like. Yes, aesthetics is the common thread that binds all art forms together. Fortunate are those who are involved- directly or indirectly- in some or the other art form. Thanks for your kind words, Geeta ji.

An striking self portrait, which shows more than any 'selfie' could. You look serious and pensive against the bright blue background. I wish I could paint like that.
