There in the doorway
separated light from dark
there was a new day
but with it came a heavy heart
it was the price she paid
where turmoil was the trade
she left it all behind
there ahead was a new day
but bittersweet it was
right from the very start
for now and forever
she'll carry her heavy heart

I wish I could reply to all of you but the reply button does not have a submit button. I'm sure you all know that. I will try to write and screen shot them so they can see. Ugh someone needs to get them to fix it! It is our communication to our fellow poets. Aqua Flowere
Dear Poet, Now you can click the submit button, which appears there unlike previously, but you cannot readily see the reply. It will not appear immediately, but after 3/4 days you and the recipient can see your replies. So keep replying, without bothering to see immediately. Khaiul
'but bittersweet it was right from the very start for now and forever she'll carry her heavy heart' - A poem of sad, poignant thoughts, but the beauty lies in its expression. We all have our fair share of sadness to carry with us, so cheer up, dear poet.
A well written poem of pain and how we all carry some enjoyed
Carrying pain of the past and perhaps regret for the decision gone wrong. A sad poem that somehow resonates with me.
