She Remembered Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

She Remembered

Rating: 5.0

'You're hurting me, Lee-Ann' she said
As the PSW changed her diaper
I just listened through the door
Of her hospice room weeping
I wanted to run and savee her
Taking her home to the bed we shared
But it was no use, she was at the end
She was slowly losing her abilities to recogise us
We waited for it to end, watching her demise
I tried not to think of the future without her
But that made me weep more
I was thankful for a moment
She remembered who took care of her
Even though, for a moment
